One-Hour Tour
A perfect option for those with a tighter schedule who want an introduction to the town’s highlights. This tour starts at the tourist information centre in the middle of town. The tour then moves between the old town’s east (pictured) and west gates. Previous groups have all enjoyed visiting the old gaol, St Mary’s Church and Lord Leycester Hospital.
This more extensive option gives a broader perspective of the town and is slightly harder on the legs. In the past, tour groups have enjoyed a short break during their tour at one of the town’s historic tea-rooms like the Thomas Oken Tea Rooms. The additional hour of the tour includes a visit to St. John’s House Museum and a trip down the iconic cobbles of Mill Street.
